AMM School celebrated Van Mahotsav Week with great enthusiasm from 1st July 2026, fostering environmental awareness, creativity, and a sense of responsibility among students through a variety of meaningful activities. The celebrations were thoughtfully planned to inspire students of all age groups to appreciate nature, conserve the environment, and adopt sustainable practices.
The celebrations commenced with a special Van Mahotsav Day Assembly, organised by the students of Class XI. The assembly began with the school song, followed by a theme-based presentation highlighting the significance of forests and environmental conservation. A captivating role play featured renowned environmentalists such as K. M. Munshi, Sunderlal Bahuguna, Salumarada Thimmakka, and Jadav Payeng, who have made remarkable contributions towards protecting nature. Through their performances, students conveyed the message that caring for the environment is a lifelong responsibility rather than a one-day event.
The programme also included news updates on global, national, and state-level environmental initiatives, creating awareness about forest conservation and ecological restoration. An engaging Green Quiz Challenge witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across different classes, enhancing their environmental knowledge in an interactive manner. As a symbolic gesture to promote eco-friendly practices, the quiz winners were presented with saplings, encouraging them to nurture the plants and become responsible caretakers of nature.
As part of the Van Mahotsav Week celebrations, students from the Primary Section actively participated in a range of age-appropriate activities designed to develop creativity while reinforcing environmental values.
Grade 1 students explored the beauty of nature through Leaf Printing Art, creating colourful impressions using fallen leaves. This activity introduced them to the diversity of leaves while enhancing their creativity and fine motor skills.
Grade 2 students designed attractive Nature Bookmarks using eco-friendly materials. The activity promoted both reading habits and an understanding of the importance of trees and environmental conservation.
The young innovators of Grade 3 showcased their creativity through the Best Out of Waste activity, transforming discarded materials into useful and decorative articles. This hands-on experience reinforced the principles of reducing waste, recycling, and conserving natural resources.
Grade 4 students celebrated India’s rich cultural heritage by creating eco-friendly Thoranams using natural and biodegradable materials. The activity highlighted the importance of preserving traditional practices while embracing sustainable living.
Demonstrating their commitment to environmental stewardship, Grade 5 students prepared impactful campaign posters advocating tree conservation and actively participated in an Awareness Rally. Their creative messages and enthusiastic participation inspired the school community to protect and preserve the green environment.
The Van Mahotsav celebrations successfully instilled environmental consciousness, creativity, and social responsibility among students. Through engaging activities, meaningful presentations, and active participation, the students gained a deeper appreciation for the importance of trees and sustainable living. The week concluded with a collective pledge to plant, protect, and nurture trees, reaffirming the school’s commitment to building a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future.
