The Teacher Empowerment Program organized by AMM Foundation at TI School, Ambattur, on August 5, 2023, was a significant initiative aimed at enhancing the professional development of educators. The program focused on two crucial themes: “Roles and Responsibilities” and “Inter and Intra-Personal Communication.”

Roles and Responsibilities:

The first session, centered around roles and responsibilities, was led by Ms.Lydia , an experienced English Teacher. Ms.Lydia delved into the multifaceted roles that teachers play beyond imparting knowledge. She highlighted the importance of being mentors, guides, and even counsellors to students. The session covered the following key points:

Understanding the evolving role of teachers in the modern educational landscape.

Balancing academic responsibilities with promoting holistic student development.

Navigating challenges such as diverse classroom environments and inclusive education.

Session 2:Inter and Intra-Personal Communication

The second session, conducted by Ms.Ayeesha , a commerce teacher, addressed the crucial skills of inter and intra-personal communication for educators. She stressed the significance of effective communication in building strong teacher-student relationships and fostering a positive learning environment. The session covered the following aspects:

Importance of active listening and empathetic communication.

Techniques for clear and concise instructional communication.

Handling conflicts and challenging conversations with students, parents, and colleagues.

Self-awareness and its role in improving communication skills.

Interactive activities:

The event also included interactive activities where participants had the opportunity to engage in group activities and discussions related to the topics covered. These workshops provided a platform for teachers to share their experiences, challenges, and best practices, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
