About The Event
Students of class 5 were taken to Semmohi Poonga on 20th July, a must visit destination in the city. The children were excited to walk around the park and enjoyed the greenery amidst the hustle bustle surroundings. The children gained knowledge about the plants and flowers grown there which included some exotic plant species.
On 27th July, class 6 students visited the Tholkappiyar Poonga (Adyar Eco Park). The children gained knowledge on the the park’s ecosystem comprising of tropical dense evergreen forest with varieties of flora and fauna. The children were also briefed about estuary, algal bloom, protected species and maintenance of the park
Students of classes 7(22nd July) and 8(25th July) were taken to a trip to the Tamil Nadu Police Museum, Egmore. The museum has a repository of exhibits from Colonial India to Modern India. The children learnt about the legends and valour of the state’s police force. The Indo-Saracenic building, its resplendent architecture and its restoration story was a retreat for historical enthusiasts.
