The CBSE workshop on “Understanding Classroom Management” was conducted at PSBB Higher Secondary School, KK Nagar, over 2 days, on 15th and 16th September 2023. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Uma Sivaraman and Mrs. Maya Sivaramakrishnan. Ms. Vijayalakshmi and Ms. Priya from the primary section and Ms. Uma V from the Middle School attended the workshop.

The First day of the workshop touched upon topics like “Different Learning Styles”, “Teaching strategies”, “Types of Learners”, “Types of teachers” etc. The components of classroom management were explained very well by the trainers. The second day of the workshop touched upon the topic “Covenant management” which is basically the congenial interpersonal relationship between stakeholders necessary for effective classroom management. “Strategies for handling misbehavior”, and the “Role of positive and negative reinforcement” was discussed. An assessment was conducted at the end of the session covering the topics delivered over the duration of the workshop. The workshop was insightful and engaging, as the trainers have several years of experience in this field and shared several anecdotes which were interesting, and will be useful while implementing these strategies in the classroom.
