The sixth consecutive AMM Family Walkathon was held on the 23rd of September2023, in commemoration of the World Elders day celebration.

The event’s motto “Be active, be healthy, Zero carbon and donate organs” aims at creating awareness on environmental issues and bringing together the members of the community promoting a cause.

The chief guest Mr. Hanifa National race walker champion flagged off the event from the school premises in the early hours amidst the Correspondent Ms. Meyyamai Venkatachalam. Ms. Lakshmi Headmistress SRM School Ambattur, Ms. Mahalakshmi Principal AMM School and Mr. Dushyanthan Vice Principal AMM School, parents, grandparents and students.

Participants geared up for the Walkathon as early as 5.30 am. The chief guest addressed the gathering after which he flagged off the Walkathon. After a short warm up session and briefing about the route, participants commenced the walk in the pre-designated routes.

Four refreshment points enroot provided the walkers with refreshments.

Following the full walk around the designated routes, back in the campus, participants enjoyed a short yoga session after light refreshments and were addressed by Dr. Arun Kumar Cardiologist.

For the last several years, the school has been in the fore-front initiating activities towards promoting a healthy life style and environmental consciousness.

Extra efforts have been taken to have a total ban on plastics in the campus as a part of its “Go Green Initiative”. This event is just a step forward in creating and sustaining a healthy world at large.
