Joy of Sharing – Report - October

As a part of our community service, White channa and a minimum of rupee 1 was collected from October 16th to 20th. The total collection is as follows:

For the money collected 40 Kg of Ponni Rice was bought. 11 Kg of White channa, 40 Kg of rice were donated to Asha Nivas Orphanage for girl children, Aminjikarai on 26th of October 2023 by class 9 students Dharini, Ayan, Vinya, Harini and Advika. The children felt really happy as they donated the items and understood the needs of others and how priviledged their lives are compared to children of their age.

Joy of Sharing – Report - September

As a part of our community service, foxtail millet and a minimum of rupee 1 was collected from September 18th to 22nd. The total collection is as follows:

The money collected during Walkathon was split into 3 parts, and for this month ₹ 4000 was added along with money collected from students. For the money collected 50 Kg of Rice and toiletries worth ₹1800 were bought. 5 Kg of foxtail millet, 50 Kg of rice and toiletries were donated to Little Sisters of the poor old-age home, Chetpet on 6th of October 2023 by class 8 students Ezhilvizhi, Pavisha, Tharani Sri, Varun, Nithish and Thirumaran. The children felt really happy as they donated items and learnt about the importance of elders, role of elders in their life and to respect elders.

Joy of Sharing – Report - August

As a part of our community service, Ragi, Pepper or Jeera and a minimum of rupee 1 was collected from August 21th to 25th. The total collection is as follows:

For the money collected 20 Kg of Ragi and 6 Kg of Jaggery was bought. A total of 44 Kg of Ragi, 6 Kg of Jaggery and 5 Kg of Pepper and Jeera were donated. All the collected items were donated to Tree Foundation in Bangalore. Volunteer from Tree Foundation came to collect the items to our school. Class 5 students Dharshini, Gracy, Yazhini, Sudhirshan and Srijan donated the collected items to the volunteer who came to collect the items. The children felt really happy as the donated items will be used to feed the elephants and all the children are fond of elephants.

WOW Collection

As a part of the green initiative activity for the Van Mahotsav week , on 10.7.2023 WOW collection day was organised in the school by the Earth Squad Team. The students were encouraged to bring used papers and in return received stationeries worth Rs. 10/- per kg.

Joy of Sharing – Report

As a part of our community service, Urad dhal, Onion and a minimum of rupee 1 was collected from June 26th to July 7th. The total collection is as follows:

For the money collected 50 Kg of boiled Ponni rice, and 25 Kg of Idly rice were bought. All the collected items were divided into two equal halves and were donated to Sahaya Illam old age home in St. Thomas mount and Kakkum karangal orphanage in Thiruvanmiyur. Six children (Shashini, Deekshitha, Serena, Krishna Sai, Raghav Karki, Karunya) from class 5 were taken to the homes for donating the items on 10th July. The children interacted with the elderly people there and came to know about their needs. They were very happy to receive their blessings and learnt that getting affection and care is very important at all times irrespective of the age.

Joy of Sharing – Report - July

As a part of our community service, Toor dhal, Potato and a minimum of rupee 1 was collected from July 24th to 26th. The total collection is as follows:

For the money collected 26 Kg of boiled Ponni ricewas bought. All the collected items were donated to Nirmala ShishuBhavan for differently-abled children in Royapuram. Two children (Pinky and Dharshini) and their volunteer from Nirmala ShishuBhavan came to collect the items to our school.Three of our studentsAnanya from class 3, Kavyafrom class 5 and Samyukatha from class 6 donated the collected items to the children and volunteer who came to collect the items. The children interacted with the differently-abled children who came and gave a feedback that they enjoyed talking to those children and they do not find them different they also seem to be just like them.

Joy of Sharing – Report

As a part of our community service, used and unused papers were collected during the month of April for making notebooks and to get stationeries. The collected papers were segregated by the Class V students. The unused papers were made into notebook. A total of 65 notebooks were made. The used papers were exchanged with stationeries from ‘WOW’. The total weight of used papers was 157 Kg which was exchanged for stationeries worth ₹2,990. Four students (Smyan, Dharshan, Aarush, Nagammai) from classes VI and VII were taken to Gold Heart Foundation for homeless girl children in Adyar to distribute these notebooks and stationeries to the needy, where the students interacted with the children there and learnt the importance of sharing with others.They even shared that they feel privileged to have everything they possess in life which many people do not have.

Blood Donation Awareness

Blood Donation awareness programme was organised on 14.6.2023. Students spoke about the Donors, recipients of Blood donation and its importance with the help of posters.
