Personal Effectiveness and Team Development Training

Personal Effectiveness and Team Development Training was held on 1st and 2nd June 2016 for 36 teachers of our school. Ms. Sheeba Maini was the resource person for the one and a half day workshop. Topics like 7 habits of successful people, ego states, time matrix and team work were discussed. Teachers found the workshop very informative and thought provoking.

Parent-Teacher meeting

Parent-Teacher meeting was held on 4th June 2016. The meeting was conducted in different sessions for parents of students from KG to IX and XI. Principal addressed the gathering and announced the plans for the new academic year with parents. An interactive session was held where parents put forward their suggestions and feedback.

World Environment Day 2016

World Environment Day was celebrated on 6th June 2016. The Chief Guest Mrs. Supraja Dharini, an active environmentalist and ecologist delivered a speech on the school’s participation in Turtle Walk organized by the Tree Foundation and she advised the students to take part actively in all environment protection activities. Students from two of the neighbouring schools participated in the programme and shared their experiences. All the guests planted saplings and tied Rakhi to the trees.

Class XI – Orientation Programme

An orientation programme was conducted for class XI students on 6th June 2016. Students were given a general introduction about the school and the other institutions under AMM foundation. Also the code of conduct was explained to the students. Students shared their talents, hobbies and ambition in the final session.

World Blood Donor’s Day

World blood donor’s day was celebrated on 14th June 2016. Dr Mythili from VHS hospital gave a motivational talk to the students about blood donation. On 18th June 2016, a Blood Donation Camp was held in which 86 volunteers donated blood. This includes 9 staff, 75 parents and 2 persons from the public. VHS Hospital also joined us for the cause.

AMM Film Club 2016

The first session of AMM Film Club was organized on 18th June 2016 by the club facilitators Ms. Paavai and Ms. Nishanthy. 43 students from classes VII and VIII attended the session which included grounding, sharing the club expectations and a powerpoint presentation. The film ‘Icecream’ was screened and a group discussion was conducted.

Investiture ceremony

Investiture ceremony for the year 2016-2017 was conducted on 18th June 2016. Dr. A. Rajagopal, Secretary, AMM Foundation was the Guest of Honour. Members of the student council received the badges followed by oath taking. The head boy and head girl delivered their acceptance speech ensuring the discipline of the school.

Leadership Programme

Leadership programme was conducted for the members of students’ council on 18th June 2016 by Mr. Rajeshwar Rao. The qualities of a leader were well explained through activities. Leadership programme for primary captains was conducted on 20th June 2016 by Ms. Sharda Rao and Ms. Preethi. This session gave awareness to the children about their responsibilities as leaders.

International Yoga Day Celebration for Students

International Yoga Day was celebrated for students from 8 am to 9 am on 21st June 2016. The Yoga logo was put up this year. Dr. Mahendran and Yoga Anand organised the event. Students and teachers practised and learnt Yoga asanas. The primary students had separate yoga sessions under the guidance of teachers.

International Yoga Day Celebration for Parents

International Yoga Day was celebrated for parents on 25th June 2016. Dr. Mahendran and primary Yoga teacher Ms. Meenakshi organized the event. Nearly 75 parents participated in the event and performed yoga asanas.

Community club/ Interact club- Collection of Re. 1, Toor Dal and Vegetables

Community club and Interact club members took initiative in collecting toor dal, Re. 1, and vegetables from students on 27th June 2016. Students from KG to class XII contributed and collected Rs 6684 in cash, 46.5 kg of toor dal, 62 kg onion, 38.9 kg carrot, 7.5 kg potato, 1.5 kg rice, 1 kg tomato, 0.5 kg sugar and 0.5 kg of other miscellaneous items. All these provisions were donated to Sri Arunodhayam Home for the mentally retarded and destitute children.
