Feed Back:

The session was very interactive and unique in its own way. It was some thing that we never expected we would learn. It was a very nice approach to expose students to agriculture. The staff was very friendly and was willing to clear all our doubts without hesitation. He taught us in a way which made it interesting. The session was very educative and fun at the same time. I am sure the students will love to attend many other sessions. We thank our principal, for allowing us to attend such a wonderful session at Murugappa Polytechnic College.

It was a very useful and interesting session and we learnt many things in two days.The staff who taught us,was very friendly and he cleared our doubts whenever we asked without hesitating.He taught us in a way that we all have fun and ensures that we learn something new at the same time.It was a very nice experience and we wish to attend many more sessions in future.We thank our school principal for sending us to Murugappa Polytechnic College for attending a very useful session.

Office Appliance

  • In office appliance we learned about how does electronic items works which are used in office.
  • We learnt about electric circuit and it's component which are battery or transformer, resistor, switch, capacitor, diode.
  • Sir, thought us that transformer produces electricity, resistor to reduce the current flow, capacitor is used to store and discharge the electricity.
  • We got know that there is 2 types of transformer which is set up and set down and the primary and secondary parts.
  • We also learned about the positive or anode(+) and negative or cathode(-) and how to identify them in different component
  • We got to know that diode is the one which changes AC(~) current to DC(-) current.Maximum Volt of AC current  is 230 V and DC has infinite.
  • we learned about how to calculate the resistance of a resistor by using the color coding.He then thought us about how to draw and connect a circuit which is to light a led using diode.

Feed Back:

We learnt about bridge diode which consists of 4 diode ,2 main and 2 for support. Mr Tamilselvan thought us about solving and dissolving which is melting and soldering the wire which is connected to a circuit and he thought us how to do it and helped us do it practically. We thank our school principal for sending us to Murugappa Polytechnic College for attending a very useful session.

It was a wonderful session where we learnt many things associated with the automobile world. I would like to thank our principal in behalf of the students in my session for arranging us this life skill trip in coordination with the Murugappa polytechnic college

Rajyapuraskar Pre Testing Camp Reports

Rajyapuraskar Pre Testing Camp was conducted by Central Chennai District Bharath Scouts and guides on 29th and 30th June 2019 from 9.00 a.m to 4.30 p.m(on both days).

The camp held at St. Britto's Academy Higher Secondary School, 3/3, Nethaji Road, Velachery, Ch-42. Around 200 Scouts & Guides from various school under Central Chennai District participated in the camp.

From A.M.M.Mat.Hr.Sec.School 6 scouts and 5 guides attended the camp.

Proficiency notes were checked by Badge examiner and attested by the District Officials. Scouts & Guides were oriented on Pioneering, First aid and Pravesh portions.

Our Scout Masters Mr. Sathyanarayana and Mr. Nedunchezian were the examiner for Safety Knowledge and Handy Man respectively.

Our Guide Captain Mrs. Girija Kumari was the examiner for Trityasopan.

Skill Development Programme held at Murugappa Polytechnic, Avadi

A total of 114 students of class XII were taken to Murugappa Polytechnic, Avadi on 22.07.2019 and 29.07.2019 for a skill development programme conducted by the polytechnic in collaboration with Siemens company and Government of Tamil Nadu. Students were divided into 22 to 23 in a group to study the following topics. Basics of Agro Engineering, Basics of Electronics Office Equipment, Basics of Electronics Home Appliances, Basics of Automobile 2wheeler and Basics of Automobile 4wheeler. Report of a student in each department.

Basics of Agro Engineering

Trainer: Mr. V.R. Muthuraj

Day Topics learnt
Day 1 Foundation of agro machinery – Basics of Agriculture – Types of Farming – Difference between the types of farming – Cropping seasons in India – Types of crops – Irrigation (types, source, advantage and disadvantage) – Drip irrigation system DIS(component and working) – Types of pumps.
Day 2 Working and principles of DIS component – Engines – 4 stroke engine – working of engine – Heavy machinery – seed cum fertilizer drill – components of seed cum fertilizer drill – types of seed metering mechanism – parts of tractors – Diesel engine working – difference between diesel and petrol engine – types of wheel drive mechanism( jeep and tractor) – Rocker arm mechanism – line diagram of the working of engines.

We also wrote a test on these topics. Writing the test made us understand the concept more effectively. It was a very useful workshop. We were able to learn new concepts in agro engineering though it was not that relevant to our studies. - ARYA of 12B

Basics of Electronics Office Equipment

The course which held on 22/7/2019 & 29/7/2019 was very informative and also applicable for day to day life. It covered areas of basic electronic components. Two days of class was taken by Mr. Tamizhselvan, who was interactive and we were able to understand things easily. The practical and theory class included soldering, desoldering and circuit design. Test conducted by them helped us to recollect what we learnt. We thank murugappa foundation for providing this opportunity. - Brindha and Kanishka of 12C

Basics of Electronics Home Appliances

Topics learnt
Multimeter safety while using electronic appliances – Electronic components – soldering (practical) – series and parallel connections.

Our experience:

Electronics home appliances was new for us as most of being commerce students. We learnt about the basic concepts and terminologies. We had practical session on the working of multimeter, soldering and desoldering. The session was helpful to us as we came to know how to prevent shocks. – Arunachalam M K of 12C

Basics of Automobile 2Wheeler

The students of class XII attended a course on 2wheeler at Murugappa polytechnic college on 22.7.19 and 29.7.19. On the first day, our trainer Mr Ram taught us about 4 stroke engine and 2 stroke engine in detail. He also showed us an engine and explained the parts of the engine. He was very supportive and explained all our doubts well. He also taught us how to check the level of engine oil in a motorcycle. He also taught us about 55 rules to keep workplace clean. On the second day, we learnt about how the combustion process in engine of a motorcycle takes place and the difference between 2 stroke and 4 stroke engine. We also learnt about many parts of the motorcycle like carburetor, gear system, brakes, etc... Overall it was very fun and we learnt a lot of new things about two wheeler that we can apply in our real life. - Sai Krishna of 12B

Basics of Automobile 4wheeler

The workshop on four wheeler was conducted on 22.7.19 (Monday) and 29.7.19 (Monday) at Murugappa Polytechnic by Mr Arun Balaji. Initially we were instructed about the various equipment's used to repair a 4wheeler and the various parts of 4wheeler. Then different types of engines were explained. We learnt how an engine works. The different safety equipment to be used while working on a 4wheeler were listed. The different types of 4wheelers based on the engine and wheel drive were explained with diagrams. On the second day brake system was explained with a live example. Later, we learnt how the four wheelers are maintained and the various tools used to repair them. On the whole, we obtained a practical knowledge on how to handle and maintain 4wheelers with the help of live examples. - Agilan of 12B

NSS Activity held on 26.07.2019

As part of NSS awareness campaign on Helmet wearing and Seat Belt in cars, our school NSS students prepared placards and charts to create an awareness for those whose who travel on the Gandhi Mandapam road, Kotturpuram and to the parents of our school. On 26/07/2019, Friday 40 students from class XI and XII took part in the awareness campaign. Our students stood on the road to create awareness from 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm. Few students even went to the extent of personally asking them to wear helmet and seat belt when they were in signal.
